Interview: [WAR] Shai Tan
In the middle of the PVP Feast, many major battles have be fought
between players such as Bismarck, Mythriel or Shai Tan. Although, the
one that stole the throne from the great warrior Bismarck was none other
than the subject of this interview, [WAR] Shai Tan.
Q: Greetings [WAR] Shai Tan, can you introduce yourself and give us
a little glance at who [WAR] Shai Tan is?
A: Shai Tan: Meaning "Opponent" in Arabic, is the Great Lord of
the Dark, the Shepherd of the Night, the Father of Lies, The Lord of
Chaos, The Sight blinder, the Blight Bringer, the Shadow. . .But I'm a nice
guy once you get to know me

. I'm one of the top PvP:ers from the
Aeria Games and Entertainment server of Dreamlords that recently shut
down, and have a few eras of experience from there. I love to fight, and
my goal is to get the Kasraks Right Hand medal (Kill 12000 enemy
squads in an era) and to get the 1st Battle Master medal. My #1 rival
used to be Sentior, but we joined forces when we came to Lockpick in
order to make powerful Convergence: The Wicked Ascendants of the
Reaper.
Q: What do you think about the Covenant in the sense of PVP?
Is Covenant the ultimate PvP race or is it all just about skills?
A: The Covenant is strong if played correctly, as with all races.
Their defensive capabilities are unmatched, and they can be very difficult
to kill. They tank better than any race. However, I do not think the
Covenant is the ultimate PvP race. All the races have weak and strong
points and if exploited and countered you can defeat anyone. PvP is
mostly about skill. Micro-management, counter strategies and equipment
in-game can make or break you. Out of game you need to be
researching the right things, in the right build-orders so that when you hit
the battle field you are strong enough to contend with anybody. Of
course, I can't share what the right build-orders are. Those are top secret ^^
Q: You have held the throne of Battle Rating for some time now, but
recently you where thrown off, what's your comment about that? Will we
see a come back of the mighty [WAR] Shai Tan?
A: At the beginning of the era I didn't see much of the talented
PvPers in the Dueling Grounds. That left me against the rest of the
players, and I didn't find many opponents that could defeat my
Covenants defensive front. I guess I wasn't really prepared for the Feast
however. [DIE] Bismarck saw to it to cut my BR down a little. But with
every battle I learn something, especially if I loose. Bismarck was kind
enough to show me the flaws in my tactics without knowing it, and [GNG]
Mythriel showed me that I need some new toys to beat him. Oh I have
plans, and there is still plenty of era left... You have not seen the last of
Shai Tan.
Q: Is there anything else you wish to share with us?
A: First of all I'd like to thank David and the rest of the
developers for taking in us poor AGE gamers and cutting us such a good
deal to get our traits back. I was so sad when AGE announced they were
shutting down, and you guys lifted my spirits right back up. I love the
game, and I love supporting it in anyway I can.
I'd also like to encourage all players, PvPers or otherwise, to buy tribute!
3-6 dollars of tribute can get you craaazy good equipments off the altar,
or convert a ton of workers early in the era (for impatient people like my
self). I don't like the precedent that has been set that people who use
tribute are some how cheating or that tribute makes you less skilled.
Buying tribute funds the game! If you help fund the game, you deserve to
be overpowered compared to people that don't ^^. And people that just
can't buy tribute for one reason or another. Make some charms like
everyone else and stop bad mouthing tribute users. Not saying that
everyone does, but people who do know who they are. Thanks for taking
the time to talk with me!

insightful and most interesting interview.
Note to Mythriel: Don't worry. We will be interviewing you as well =)
