I like the change that only lets you defend your own territory although it can still be hard to take edge territories without being repeatedly attacked by people aiming for medals. When it comes to the DG there is very little incentive to use it since most of the time you end up against one of the top players and have little chance to win, and losing brings you nothing but 10 lost minutes...
The idea about making the DG into a BR-based ladder seems interesting, that would make it worthwhile to progress in war strategy research and not hold back to be able to fight noobs... Another idea to increase the number of pvp-ers would be to give better rewards for pvp, even if you lose, so that it can be wortwhile to do a little pvp even when you know beforehand that you'll probably lose. Maybe make it so that the rewards depend on the length of the match, although that would of course have to be watched for exploitation. |

I'm not exactly sure where you get $17.50 for a level 1 set since the cheapest set costs less than 1000 Tribute for us which would be less than $1.40 if you bought 10k tribute as a free player. Although I agree they need to revise their prices for 30 day items I think you should not compare Aerias prices to Lockpicks without checking first. Also we do not gain free tribute for being a premium member and the most Tribute any player can get for free in 1 day is 10, which again going by 10k purchase would be about 1 penny? PvP has many hurdles to get past but I'm confident the Developers are trying their best for a good solution rather than a crappy fix. |

Overhere our level 1's are 249 AP a piece. times that by 7, you get about 1750. His calculations were right.

Again, that is Aerias choice and has nothing to do with the way the game was developed. If your problem is that it costs that much you should be complaining to Aeria and keep the problems about pvp to the point. Older and more experienced players bashing new ones was a huge problem and still needs more attention. Not only that but pvp needs to be encouraged despite the bashing as it's an optional but very, very integral part of the game, it's systems and a good portion of crafting. A lot of people agree the rewards need to be changed and without input from players a good solution won't be reached soon. |

As to prices. I believe that is on both parts, otherwise we could ask here that our DL gear be pushed down to 100 AP and trait points at 50 AP.
I'm not sure as the terms of production, however I'm sure Lockpick would not want our prices that way. I myself can push for lower prices, however they still have to be comparable to this version yes? =P. |

i think the biggest problem with the new PVP is that players cant see other players or how long they have been waiting... and have not porpuse to wait other then to watch a "scaning bar *eye* go back and forth" and hope some one around there level is also watching the same eye.
being able to SEE an other player and haveing a reason to wait other then to PVP some one makes it SEEM faster... even if on the old one you would have waited 9:59 and on the new one you wait 5:00 it still seems faster the other way. |

Well aware this isn't the idea's forum where something like this would normally go.. but the pvp complaint threads in there are vast enough I thought I'd spread it to general is well.
1. PVP needs significant rewards: Yeah i know every complaint mentions this but they do it for a reason. Namely, that it's not being addressed. A trophy is not a reward. It's an ingredient that with a great many other ingredients and research can be turned into something useful by maybe (and i think I'm high-balling it) 10% of the player population. So, to put it another way.. garbage. The ideal for pvp should be rewards matching pve. Different routes to the same goal with each being valid if you see what I mean. 2. DG needs to be anonymous: Alt - f4ing is not gone or even decreased. When a match comes up you should not see the other players stats or even name in my opinion. You should have no idea who the hell you're facing until the prec screen. Pro's: no picking and choosing fights Con's: none that i can see. 3. Make pvp match your game: As David stated earlier the relatively small pvp crowd intentionally gimps their levels. There are two reasons for this. the first is exactly what you stated, noob bashing. It's pathetic, stupid, and destructive to the player base. The second reason and by far the more used is the fact that if you level too fast you can no longer get games. It's that simple. If a player plays the game as Lockpick has designed it, they isolate themselves from both standard pvp and DG. I'd suggest removing all level brackets from DG. What purpose does it serve as it stands right now? It breaks up the already small pvp base further while ensuring that it's more then possible for a level 5 to have a higher BR then a level 20. "but zomg that means a level 50 could fight a level 1?!?!" YES. That's exactly what I'm saying. This way the pvp lands are freed from noob bashing because if u want a BR you have to actually level pvp or be raped which leaves lands and world bosses to be fought over by the honestly leveled players on those islands. Also has the added bonus of players ACTUALLY BEING REWARDED for leveling instead of punished. 4. Remove Medals: Yeah i know we all love our collection of medals. They're shiny and very E-peen enhancing. However they are the apotheosis of noob bashing. There is not a single person with 100+ medals in game that didn't get it from lurking on sacred, pouncing on people with 0/0 records. All they do is encourage people to beat down people that can't fight back because otherwise their streak might be ended. They're pointless fluff that encourages killing off new players. I'm sure there's more I can add but I feel you're all hero's if you managed to make it this far through my wall of text so might as well not push it further. |

Nice writing, my comments about it
1) About rewards, the problem is that they should be more interesting for the losing player than pve - if you want to attract other players. So maybe give the possibility for loser to win a trophy. For instance by killing opponent dreamlord. I find trophies good rewards. With a full charmed equipment, the damage per second are more than twice what I have. This is something quite useful for pvp and pve - doing 2 pve missions in the same time I do 1 is probably worth it. 2) Con that I see: people won't even try DG if they see that a "big" pvp player is online. 3) This sounds good, although I think the introduction of world boss already changed that a bit. There is a race to go to those high pvp levels to be able to kill them. 4) I fully agree with that |

I actually agree with Cannon on 4. also, any good pvp player knows he is good without virtual medals to obtain and they are probably one of the biggest contributing factors in bashing. Plus a good pvper will usually earn his reputation without needing medals either.

well, just few comments: 2) it dont need to be anonymous, but disconnect after oponent is found should be considered as a lost game. Well, there will be some cases when player is disconnected and he dont want it, but its same as this happens infight...connection is not fair 3) removing lvl brackets is bad idea. Consider player who starts in the middle of Era - he will loose all his matches because his oponent is too strong, and that wont help in PvP propagation On the other hand, there should be something what your PvP lvl affects to make you to raise it |
