Dreamlords: General Forum Rules and Guidelines

Lockpick Entertainment cannot be held responsible for the content on the provided forums posted by the users of said forums. Lockpick Entertainment will try to ensure that any content that is in violation of the rules and guidelines will be removed as soon as possible it is possible that such material might cause distress before being removed by the moderators.

These rules and guidelines are in place to ensure that every member of the community will have a pleasant experience. Our moderators will enforce these rules according to our internal guidelines, which means that your posts may be deleted or locked and you may be given a warning or even banned if these rules are not followed.

Moderators
Any and all questions regarding the moderation of the boards or issues with other members of the community should be directed to the moderators. Do so via the private message function to any of the moderators listed. If you have an issue with a moderator then send your complaint to moderator@dreamlords.com, do not address the issue openly on the forums as that will just aggravate the situation further.

Malicious behaviour
Insulting, harassing, "trolling" or "flaming" is not allowed on our forums, this includes responding to such behaviour in kind. If you are victim to such behaviour then contact a moderator through private messages or e-mail your complaint to support@dreamlords.com. Spamming, power posting and advertising are also not permitted, discussing another game if it makes sense in an ongoing conversation is of course allowed but blatant advertising is not. Do not bump topics unless you have something new to add to the topic. Also refrain from posting off-topic comments. Spamming includes posting pointless threads.

Threads
New threads should be posted in the appropriate forum, a misplaced thread can be moved, locked or deleted depending on the content. These forums concern only the game Dreamlords, as such there will be no discussions regarding politics, religion, nationality, ethnicity, sexual disposition or anything else of similar nature. If there is a thread on a specific topic that has been created fairly recently all discussion around that topic should be in that thread. Any new threads started on the same topic will be closed with a reference to the first thread.

Do not start new threads asking or debating why another thread was locked, moved or removed.

Remember to write a short but descriptive topic for your threads. If you have questions about what Soul Shards are, then an appropriate topic could be "What is Soul Shards?" or "Questions about Soul Shards" or similar. Do not just simply write "HELP" or "PROBLEM" or "???" because it makes it hard for us moderators and other players to look for interesting threads, and you will probably be less likely to get a response from someone with an answer. And do not use only CAPS. [6/2-08]

Banning
Continous or extremely severe breaches of the forum rules will result in a ban from the forum. The length of this ban is in relation to the violation and may be anything from 24 hours to a permanent ban. Some examples of serious violations are posting hacks or exploits, creating new threads on a subject that moderators have deemed in violation of the rules and closed, or continuously harassing other members of the community.

Do not start threads in the forums asking or debating why you or another player was banned. If you have questions that you feel haven't been answered, turn to a moderator or staff using private messages or e-mail.

Language
The official language of Dreamlords is English which mean that all public communication on these boards is to be made in English. The spirit of these rules is to make the Dreamlords community a hospitable place for everyone and its nothing but polite to ensure that everyone can understand what is being said and follow the discussions. Of course the language of private messages or private discussions (such as Convergence forums) is up to the preference of the participants.

Signature
Signatures may not be larger than 150 pixels in height and not exceed 100kb in filesize. If the signature is only text the maximum height is roughly 9 lines of text. Mixing text and pictures in the signature is allowed, but keep in mind that the height of your signature content (text, picture, blank lines) must not exceed the previously mentioned pixel height. [6/2-08]

Also read the terms of use here, which you agreed to when signing up.

Advertising "Get Tribute For FREE!!!!!1" sites, regardless of level of legality, is not allowed on the forums. They are most probably scams, or involve far more work than the payoff would ever justify compared to, say, an ordinary job and income. It will be seen as advertising, which simply isn't allowed either on the forums, through private messages or the in-game chat.

Any site not affiliated with LockPick Entertainment that asks for your Dreamlord login name and password are in all probability scam sites. Do not give such a site your login credentials, ever.

And as always in this world, when something sounds far too good to be true, it probably is.

Updated Threads and Banning.

Do not start new forum threads asking or debating why a thread was moved, removed or locked, or why you or another player was banned. If you have questions that you feel you haven't got answers to concerning this, then please turn to a moderator or support staff member using private messages or the support e-mail.

Religion is also removed as it will cause a conflict of interest for many. Anyone caught using religion as a motivation will be removed and reported to the devs. It is also forbidden on the mains.

I would also like politics removed, as that can be a major drawback for many.

Thanks,
Shanarra
