There is a truly serious balance issue going on with Nihilim with respect to research.

I have 80 workers in all four of my main buildings. And just to research to building level 2 is taking about 5 days now. This is quite insane. I expect that slowness for building level 3 but not level 2.

Anyone else upset by the research speeds?

I have found the game to become a major bore because of this, I have tier 2 troops already, but because of the level 2 bldg research speed, I now have a very small army, just not quite large enough to beat up the rest of patria, in fact I am stuck in the first and second patria territories because the army is now too small.

If research speed was faster or bldg level 2 requirement was lower, this wouldn't be a problem and I'd be able to enjoy the game again.

All I can do is gain gnosis, and that is somewhat pointless too, as i've got 79 houses, but no new workers to put in them, and even if I did have new workers, they'd have nowhere to be assigned too that I feel they would be of any real use to me, aside from the uber slow resource bldgs, also another drag and participator in my agony of boredom with dl.

Are you sure you're not researching something else at the same time as the building in each of the subjects? If i'm researching lvl 2 building for warfare and don't have anything else in warfare it takes me a little more than 1 day when using 80 workers.

The very first bldg advancement icon, the one that nets you one star, took like a day and half. The second bldg advancement icon is taking like 4 days now, with no other research going on. It is funny too, because when I computed against my research speed, it should have taken only 31 hours.

That's weird cause i'm researching the lvl 2 welfare building and it only takes me 2 days and that's only because i'm researching something else along with it in the welfare tree. So you either researching something else in the same tree so that it splits off your research points or you have a bug there.

Well I didn't keep notes from last era so I can't be specific but it sure feels like everything is taking longer.
