Every week we will ask you what you think in different matters. This is a great way for us to get to know you better and see what you want in Dreamlords. This is not a wishing thread so stay on topic.

This week we ask you guys (and girls) about: PvE-missions. Vote and, if you wish, discuss it as well.

What maps are categorized as "Assault monster encampment"?

I'm guessing just about any mission name with the name "Camp" in it.

The "Camp" missions are you defending a camp, not attacking one.

My feedback

What kind of missions do you enjoy the most?
Clear the area of hostiles. - Which one *REALLY* isn't? Almost all of these maps, minus the others, is basically it. Even the most of the "escort" missions involve "clearing the area of hostiles", especially since these "civilains" engage the hostiles.

Defend a structure/civilian.
This would be the "fisherman" or the "twilight camp" missions I assume. Now if we had more than 7 units, or a means to produce more (i.e. our building produces "tactical points" to which we can use to spawn different units), this would be awesome to have wave upon wave upon wave. Otherwise having a limited number trying to defend upon wave upon wave with a short amount of time to recover inbetween makes these matches especially difficult, especially for Thul who don't have as much of a healing in the beginning.

What I think of is almost like a king of the hill, you capture something, and you get a timer of completion or you capture "victory locations" and have to defend them from being over taken by the enemy?

Escort a civilian to a certain location.
I assume that this will be the so called "apple missions" which is basically exactly like the above two, combined. While not so difficult as the "camp" missions, because there is only one person to gaurd, not two, but still, with wave upon wave, with a very little amount of time to recover, as well as clearing the entire area of monsters, makes these very diffcult. I'm starting to get bored to be honest.

*EXCEPTION*

The Dark Path - My *favorite* mission. Why? Two reasons - one, we can actually CONTROL the civilians first off. This is AWESOME, because it's not like our civilians (oh goodness, PLEASE don't make this in the next patch I will scream and tear my hair out) are moving from Pylon to Pylon expecting us to defend them while they move from pylon to Pylon and (and like the other "camp" missions attacking the mosnters on their way >.>, AND because it's the only mission that DOES NOT involve taking out ALL (or in this case ANY) of the monsters. My FAVORITE map.

*Idea*

Nightmare general idea, where you have the same civilians that you can control and move, and once you clear the area of these three spots, the "bossman" who has been superbuffed is now supernerfed, and maybe even affecting all of the units (maybe a -50% dodge chance) [This way, even NM 10 monsters are Defeatable! [already in love with the idea]], though obviously, it would be near impossible moving civilians just as it is in the Darkpath if people are attempting to NM 10 it.

Assault a monster campment.
Um... need some clarification on this one, Aren't all of these the same as "clearing out the enemy"? I guess perhaps this would be the "nightmare womb" maps, where you don't have to defeat ALL The enemies, but yeah.

Missions? I'm only online to chat with the devs<3
Hey, half the time I'm online that's what I'm there for! =D

*NOTE* The only issue with not "Clearing out everything in every map" is the SS. If you gave a rather large SS bonus to defeating the womb BEFORE she spawned instead of giving it due to the number of spawns that pop up afterwards (still a good amount, just not as much), this would make the womb maps better, this way, people aren't just waiting around letting it farm but might actually try to defeat it beforehand or something or some sort. This same thing applies to the Dark Path, I completed it around Level 16 PvE, but I would only do it once, and I enjoy it so much for the challenege, though I know personally that it hurts me a lot in terms that I lose out on a bunch of SS from not waiting to do it. Therefore, I won't be quick to do this mission again and again and again as a regular map. Though if it were like a bridge map or something that'd be awesome where you can either try to "blow up the bridge" by sneaking by and trying to get to certain tactical locations, or you could just rampage it and face them head to head. One is much more tedious and slow while the other one is simple, cleancut and basic.

ANYWAYS, these are my thoughts.

Monster camps I believe are the new 'Raid' Missions. Beach Raid, Dawn Raid, etc. I like them as they are done at different times, dawn/dusk/night and it adds a lot more atmosphere to the levels.

I'm big on atmosphere in my games. KT..NM 10 are immune -50% dodge wouldn't help.

I've calculated that monsters with NM 10 have -10morale/s Aura, 100% dodge chance, spell immunity, and hidden stats.

I have *not* seen immunity to physical attacks, but hey, that just may be me, maybe they did add it into the code, but I haven't been able to say so.

Furthermore... tell me how a "raid" mission differs tactically from a "clear the area of hostiles"

sweet i love this idea of polls.

any way i like to raid camps.... in RA2(yuris revenge) i like to steal the MCVs from a soviet and allie player so that i can make all the buildings.

and in SC(brood war) i like to steal the lil tech guys from terren and zerg so i can make all there buildins.

i guess i mostly like being able to make all the buildings and make any unit in the game... but still trying to get the MCV or techs with out getting them killed is fun too.
