it would be awesome to participate on beta testing.
Played for two closed beta era's on AGE, and all eras before closure on that server plus two era on LPE. Various beta testing and alpha testing ... i'll give details in pm if needed. |

lol ... yeah true, but if it showed up like 5% of the time i bet you guys would enjoy it more.
And I don't pvp much because of the fact i'm not a gear monkey so while everyones research in the main 4 is almost the same as mine ... i don't have the % to deal with 10k hp whips and 600 dps pros let alone 14k hp mindblades. But i've played that map alot when i was pvping ... it has real potential if it weren't all about dodging the armor to go for a quick VL capture. I think it's something to be said about trying to kill an enemy to get to a VL while holding off your opponent from killing you while you do it. If that were the gameplay scenario ... it would be a whole new ball game. But right now all people do is send 2 squads (1 for the VL and 1 to aggro the armor) and they keep doing it over and over till they get the points to win. Thats not skill, it's just cheap. So they really have to add some map scripting of if the armor for that flag is still alive they they don't get points, and they also need to move the armor closer so you don't have people lining up 8 pros that are fully geared along the back wall to shock and demolish anything that goes near that flag and the armor is basically the defense of the flag. |

Ghunans army is nice if the armors were closer to the VL's and could keep aggroing what ever is there trying to cap the thrones ... also if there is an armor there guarding it the vl doesn't stay capped (that's a cheap move by cheap players)
I actually like Ghunans Armor's map because of the fact it's almost a distinct change to pvp, But it needs MASSIVE tweaking. It's also fun to assault people who are trying to kill the armors ... too much to keep track of for some people. |

Now, i know this is rather time consuming since you guys are busy all the time with fixing and developing pvp, improving the game as a whole and doing it with about as many developers as i have digits on my hands. But right now this game is losing some older players ... there are 3 that won something on the pvp feast that won't be coming back, and i know alot that got medals from last era that got bored with pve for the 4th-6th era and quit as well. I know myself, I am gonna take a few era's off of this game to let it develop some more and hope that the same feeling of endless grind of the same maps doesn't come back almost immediately.
But with only 101 lands (including the first three) it's really hard to add to the game other than add maps or change map types in the various lands. point being ... later on after a few eras you get really bored with the same maps over and over. Maybe if you have more random events and i know there was at one time a "quest" tab in the client next to the convergence overview. Maybe including a random event script that will spawn a random wierd little map for on everyones patria (sort of like the pvp bosses) and also, later on in an era you really only have 3 events ... skyfall, flesh sacs and worlds dusk (which are awesome, but skyfall rewards don't really match older players except for the charms) Maybe have some random events like the pumpkin king maps where you had to collect enough mats to make a special item to make him easy enough to defeat. (easily do able by the perpetual grinder or even by a few people working together in a cv to get it done in a day.) or even bring back some of the older type of map types ... carnelia mothers were awesome. I mean ... there really don't need to be any special rewards (sort of like the rare nightmares that only drop defective soul shards) just something to break up the game play enough to create more ensentive to come back online to play every day or so once you hit 4600 gnosis and complete the patria after only 3 or 4 weeks into the era and all you have to do is research. I know that the only reason games like WoW are still going strong is that they keep adding to what someone can do or where they can go. it might take a full expansion ... but their world is immense and requires google maps to traverse at times. I already suggested breaking the patria apart and making it like the pvp islands (you then have advancement for 100 possible islands) and then it's just advancement the way it has been going. and after a while with enough islands if they all don't follow a linear path (i.e. you have more than 10 islands with 10 lands on them you can have them have multiple "exit" paths where one goes to one island and another to another island so patria advancement becomes more non-linear and you can progress in different ways every era (also lets you guys be able to keep adding and can place things like the worlds dusks on the proper land lvls and not try to squeeze them into the lower lvl maps and still making the game traversable by people who can't defeat them.) Also ... just throwing this out there ... but really there isn't alot of customization when it comes to unit gear or the variations of squads to bring into battle ... after a few eras you almost exclusively know the best lineup for pve and that never changes and unit gear is pretty much just a get the biggest gun out sort of deal ... since most of the times for pve you don't need HP, or defense or even moral ... you just need to deal more damage and only by 2 or 3 types of squads. maybe making your gear actually be reflected onto your units sort of the way snowman heads were used to make some interesting armies for both pvp and pve (since i know alot of the times if i have armor ... it's not gonna do much so it's either charm it with HP for pvp or damage for pve ... i used the snowman heads alot cause it was fun to see mobs of raw paws barreling down the throat of people wearing snowman heads) |

I strongly oppose this ... people who have ALOT of traits and era's like myself but don't have pvp builds will be DRASTICALLY outmatched by someone who is even 1 or two era's behind them but a pvp build ... let alone if i get matched with an era 1 or 2 ALT that is built for low lvl pvp with 10k HP t2 basic assault ... this would hurt more than help if it's based on the ELO. ... maybe if the pvp lvls were based ONLY on research and traits and the equalizer was based on your pvp lvl i think this would help ... but for ELO based equalizer ... i would never pvp based on what i just described. ... it's already bad enough that i'm considering starting an alt that is almost used for pvp only since i'm pretty much assured a loss from my initial elo rating placing me high enough to not be able to win unless i'm geared with ultimate charmed gear. and from what robert told me ... it's not how many wins i have anymore to let me pass 27BR since unless i have winning streaks of 15+ wins it will go up .. but who i win against that will increase that and that won't be happening any time soon. |

I would think that a form of nightmare manuvers would be good to counter the level situation ... but lvls don't reflect a whole lot ... especially when as a lvl 36 if i get matched with a person who is built to pvp at lvl 15-22 i know they have t1's and t2's basics ... while i have t2+ elites and know i have no chance in hell in matching their spawn rate so i'll pretty much lose to VL every time.
Though ... for almost 4 era's now i've been suggesting retooling pvp lvls to me less follower and BR dependant and more dependant on research to better reflect how strong a person is (since more research = stronger in most cases .. unless you're a low lvl spammer with max gear research to have 10k HP whips) Now, as for the trophies ... to get the trophies you gotta fight someone in that lvl range ... with the normal spread of lvls being more like a descending curve (plateaus in lvls first then starts to get less the higher you go) So even with dropping double trophies you'll still have a problem finishing them all off if most of your potential trophy droppers for that lvl is almost non-existant. |

So ... since then ... the client has almost DOUBLED system requirements to run the game (went from 130mb to be logged into the client to 260mb and to do maps it went from 250mb to 390mb) and actively uses atleast 46% of my processor just to run it (even when i haven't done a map yet) ... only thing that has changed is that i patched your client ...
what did you add to make my computer hate the game? |

Ok, I have to add to this ... and I know it was mentioned before ... but making alternative patrias or something else equally random. This era we've lost quite a number of era 4 and 5 players because they became bored with the sameness of the patria for another era and traits only made it easier to finish the patria faster. I myself have over 75% of my research in my main 4 buildings done and it's just passing the middle of the era.
Maybe making the little sections of island we have to pass be like little random keystones where you beat the bosses (swamp king for example) and you move on to the next island ... they can be all different sizes and can keep going to reflect people who (like me) have nothing else to really accomplish past the first 4 weeks of an era and can keep going when we hit max lvl ... this can also be another ladder to the perpetual grinder. I can come up with a few sketches as to what i would mean by this (there is enough in the game for me to photochop into examples of the micro patrias ... also since you could have almost endless game play ... you can also expand the lvls out to match your older players traits, game play skill, and any sort of additions you want to add to the game. |
